Excellent for the price! from Middle Granville, NY on 10/21/2014 – Verified Buyer
I ordered this for my grand daughters nursery to hold all her story books. It was easy to put together and of good quality for the price. It is best for small books, but you can put the large ones on the bottom shelves as displayed in the picture. The top portion of the shelf split in two when I was putting it together, but the company sent me out a replacement immediately with out any hassles. I really appreciated that.

Basics Tilted 30" Bookcase from Fort Myers, FL on 07/23/2014 – Verified Buyer
This bookcase is a wonderful value. I was doubtful at first because it doesn't come assembled. However, it did come with excellent directions and even a hex wrench so I didn't have to go looking for tools. It looks beautiful and I show it off to everyone who comes to visit. What I especially like is the tilted shelves. I like that I can see the names of the books without having to bend over.

A pretty, solid little shelf! from California on 10/17/2010 – Verified Buyer
Honestly, I thought that the shelf would look really hokey. I was expecting a plastic-like wood and a "country" feel... The last shelf I ordered from Wayfair arrived completely swathed in Bubble cushion, so I was a little worried when this box arrived without. Also, even though the two shelves were listed as both 20 lbs, this wooden shelf felt distinctly more heavy and dense. Apparently, this shelf wasn't Bubble cushionped because thin sheets of styrofoam-like stuff were enough to protect it. Honestly, that still worries me, but my shelf arrived in perfect condition, so I'm probably worrying needlessly. After unwrapping the (heavy) wooden pieces I was so pleased that the wood looked and felt like real wood rather than the plasticy look and feel I was expecting from the website pictures! The next order of business was trying to find some instructions. The first shelf had some, though they ended up being absolutely useless, but this shelf had none at all. he closest thing was the picture of the finished shelf on the box. But I was okay with that. I love challenges and I'm not entirely bad at these things. Figuring out how the tilted shelves fit two pieces together and joined without a great picture to go from required some theoretical trial and error. Luckily, once I figured it out (it turned out to be a lot less hard than I was making it, of course), the shelf practically flew together. (Again, the only tool needed was the provided screws and allen key.) During the building, my husband complained: "It's a shame that the screws are visible." I, being the oblivious person that I am, responded: "Is that a bad thing?" Apparently, it's considered a negative or "cheap" in furniture. I've never minded–-and even like–-visible screws. I mean, we all know they're there. And they're functional. So what's the problem? They sort of add character. But if you're one of those who find that to be a negative, then beware. Roughly, the entire process of building the shelf took a little less than an hour. I was quite pleased with the end result. The shelf ended up looking and feeling more quality than the price tag would leave me to believe–and sturdy enough to hold anything that would fit, I think.

Love it! from Los Angeles, CA on 01/13/2015 – Verified Buyer
Needed something small to hold cookbooks next to my island and this is perfect! Other reviewrs are correct that it does not hold tall books but I was able to stack them neatly on top and it looks great!

Just what I wanted!!!! from VA on 07/31/2015 – Verified Buyer
I had looked everywhere for a bookcase for my grandson. I was hoping to find something that would be easy for him to put his books on. This was the perfect solution!
