Pretty good little desk
Angie from Vicksburg, MS – Verified Buyer
We are using this corner desk in the front room area as a way to tuck away the computer without taking away from the rest of the room. The finish is a dark brownish black with just a hint of red - not as dark as some "espresso" furniture but still dark enough to blend in with black furniture. It is not very shiny but it's still pretty. The surface cleans up fine but does show fingerprints pretty easily. Fairly sturdy, some particle board but only in minor, hidden places. Good quality for what you'd expect from RTA furniture. Keyboard tray is a nice feature, keeps everything less cluttered looking. Shelves along the back underneath are useful for computer stuff so the desk is clear. Assembly was fairly straightforward, everything is labelled with numbers or letters. My husband did have to get creative to make the keyboard tray work. It took another person to hold things while he drilled new holes since he didn't know the problem until it was almost built. Now we think it's really good.

One part was not marked. Process of elimination I figured it to be G. Then it had a hole too big for the cam bolt. Also no small plastic piece to put a bolt into. I had to call and get another G and that was another 5 day wait. (Including week-end) The instructions were horrible. They said to "stop when you feel tight". Seriously? I put the rest of it together while waiting on that piece for the top and found that many of the holes for the cam bolts were too small even with the plastic inserts. I made do with what I felt would work (was married to a builder at one time and learned a lot) and put it together rather than sending it all back. I am hoping it will hold, it is pretty and just the right size but I am not certain it will hold. I have used it all day and so far so good but day one. Just very disappointing, and not worth even the cheaper price than over some others. When / if it falls down I will pay more and buy a better product.Due to the way the cam bolts were eventually put in the cam lock had a hard time getting in to hold the bolt. It is so pretty and just the right size but a nightmare. In the instructions they also say on the right side but not your right or the right side of the piece laying on the floor. Just not a good product to expect from Wayfair where I have bought many great products and had wonderful customer service.

Easily put together. Looks good Sturdy Great deal when on sale Needed a short handle screwdriver to comfortably finish tightening the last locks. Normal size would not fit in space between corner and keyboard tray. Came with a broken plastic ring for hole in top of desk. Called company and spoke to very friendly staff who sent me a replacement without hassle. Very pleased. Overall a great purchase and looks fantastic.

We used to have a large desk with many drawers in the corner of our family room. This Gilmore Desk was the perfect answer. It is half the size, which makes so much more room in the family seating area. The pullout drawer for the keyboard closes up when not needed making it look finished. The 2 shelves on the bottom are perfect for a few items or 2 small oblong baskets It looks great in this room.
Piece of J-U-N-K junk!

I had high hopes for the Meadow Corner Desk with Keyboard Tray. In reading previous reviews, I was advised to buy a product that was all wood (vs. wood veneer). Well, this product is all wood, really soft wood. Some parts came with shallow dents in them. I guess I should have known better by the name of the company - Southern Industries, and that the wood they use is soft southern yellow pine. However, the real downfall of this product is not just the soft wood they use, its also the fasteners and the instructions. The threaded receptacles for the came bolts came out of the wood easily because they were not glued in, they were simply threaded in, and during assembly, some of them tore loose from the wood they were embedded in. Also, at a critical point in the assembly (Figure 13), when the desktop is attached to the supporting structure, the assembly diagram is completely confusing because a) the illustration is tiny, and b) the illustration is totally confusing, as one needs to use cam bolts, wooden dowels and threaded bolts to complete the assembly. As a result, I attached cam bolts where threaded bolts should have gone and ended up bulging out the desktop. The diagram should have had an illustration as seen from under the desktop looking up, because the location of the pre-drilled holes was very confusing on the diagram they provided. And if you overtighten, you will end up fracturing the wood because it is so soft. I have assembled many pre-fabricated pieces of furniture before, and I can say without hesitation that this desk was probably the worst one I have ever put together. I would not recommend this at any price. Unfortunately, it is such a hassle disassembling it and shipping it back that I will end up keeping it. If I could give this product not stars, I would. Unfortunately, it is not possible to submit a review with no stars, but no stars is all this product deserves. Pros: It does the job it is supposed to do (barely) Cons: Cheap, flimsy and shoddy. Not worth the money I paid for it. Do not be deceived by the picture.

Needed a smaller corner computer desk to replace an oversized one for den. Fits all the computer paraphernalia on the two lower shelves - a Mini Mac, 2 speakers and a surge protector to plug in everything. Pros: Love the finish and scale. Perfect fit for our room Cons: The hole in top of desk is too small for some larger computer cords to fit through. We adapted. Also ,we duct taped all the cables and cords to the back of desk.

Well made and easy to put together. The picture doesn't do it justice!! Cannot believe anyone would put in a negative review because they thought the drop down tray was a drawer... It clearly states it in the description. Only one suggestion to have the top dimensions for anyone who wants to put a glass top on it (or a template in the box would do)

Table is large enough to use as a workstation and fits perfectly into almost any room - especially one that isn't too big. We put it into the guest room that's pretty small but works part-time as an office and it's beautiful in there. Quality is great too, very sturdy construction - I just always use glue when assembling wooden items, so I'd recommend that for added sturdiness.

I love the desk. It was easy for my 24 year old daughter and I to put together in about 2 hours. It takes up so much less room than the previous desk. It is in my diningroom and my husband uses this desk/computer. He hasn't complained about me getting rid of the old one and he doesn't like change. I put his papers in a decorative box on the shelf below. That works fine.
Perfect Corner Addition!
