Venture Horizon VHZ Entertainment Double Multimedia Cabinet

This is a good sized cabinet, VHS racks are a bit filmsy. My brother really likes this cabinet. It was realtively easy to put together. It looks nice and it is very sturdy.
better than expected

I was very skeptical about this product. Some of the reviews are pretty negative. Assembly is somewhat confusing and lengthy. my only major complaint is the four screws that were missing from the box. I had to sacrifice one of the door shelves because I didn't have enough screws. It is nicer and a little more sturdy than I was expecting. I love that my children cannot get into it, they run their little cars over it clueless to it's contents, that's what I bought out for... I was expecting to give this product one star, it deserves at least three as it serves it's purpose well.
great cabinet for media

We are very pleased with our purchase. The cabinet was not difficult to put together, however you may want to be sure and glue it. We did not glue all ours at first and one shelf came loose.
My Locking Double Media Cabinet

I recently purchased a Venture Horizon Double Media Locking Cabinet. Its perfect for storing my DVD collections under lock key. Ive been looking for a locking cabinet for some time to store my kung fu dvds, but couldnt find one locally. This cabinet doesnt take up much space because of its slim dimensions while providing enough storage for more than 300 dvds. I enjoyed putting it together and was surprised that every piece fit as they were supposed to. Now my dvds are lock away from grabbing fingers and curious eyes!
Just finished building

Just finished building the cabinet. All was good. Took 5 hours, didnt need much more than my screw driver. Hammer is for the small nails for the back and 7/8 wrench for locks.Took my time, all caught up on my dvr content now though. Big issue towards the end when putting the doors on. Misaligned holes caused the 2 doors on the left to not even be close to the latch and magnet. Will align everything and drill the new holes tomorrow. Not such a big deal for me but the average person without the tools to fix this would be really upset.Because we obviously are not paying for quality control with Venture Horizon merchandise or other mass producers of cheaper furniture they got 2 stars because i expect worse from them. If it still looks good when I am done fighting through poor instructions and production mishaps then whatever.[...]
Good for the Price

I use the stand to store my dvd's and it meets my expectations. Plenty of room and it allows me to keep my 17 month old safe as well as my dvd collection. I like the locking doors as well as a dual purpose of being able to use it for a tv stand as well. There were only two things that I was disappointed with in assembling the stand. One there was not enough superglue to glue all of the in door shelves. Two there could have been more nails to attach the back. Easy fixes but if this would have had these items I would have gave it a five star rating.
Looks good, but not very functional

Unit fits space requirement perfectly (few choices for short height, long width available). Inside of unit contains storage for CDs on back wall; plentiful, but hard to reach. Two sets of doors open for DVD storage, but the L-R door in each set need to be carefully open and closed together to interlock, and the Right door has to remain locked in order to hold the door in place. Long assembly time for the mechincally challenged. Laminate on the particle board scratches very easily, and I stripped the particle board when trying to line up a hinge on the left set of doors; reading ahead reveals that door hinges can be horiz. and vert. adjustable, but was then too late; cut my losses and settled for ill fitting doors.

Low Price Equals Low Quality
Dave from Tampa, FL– Verified Buyer
This product was priced around $225 and in this case you get what you paid for. The storage unit, once you get it assembled, does what it is supposed to do. However, the components are made mostly of poorer-than-expected quality and, if you're not assembling it very carefully (which may be different than following the directions), you can easily destroy the integrity of the unit. Imagine gently nailing the backing to the inside/interior vertical shelf ribs and finding that you inadvertantly split the very two pieces that support the shelves/storage items. Also, at one of the early stages of the assembly process, the sheer weight of connecting the side pieces will not allow it to support itself, may collapse and rip out the metal locking connectors.

Took two people over 3 hours to assemble. The idea is good but it lacks somewhat. Don't get me wrong it holds a very large amount but the construction and design failed. The locks are a joke. My 2 year old son pulls open the doors which defeats the purpose of the locks. The door rack holders are to be super glued in fall out about the second time you touch them.
