About the Designer
"I can't remember a time when design wasn't a major influence in my life. Nature is my greatest inspiration. I began sketching before learning math and reciting the alphabet. When I was about 8 years old, my mother designed halter dresses that we would bring to craft shows, and I was allowed the opportunity of designing handbags and jewelry to enhance the outfits. My first sale was very precious. Being compensated as a designer was and continues to be a delight. Whenever I experience something that our firm designed being worn or living in a client's home, the thrill never lessens. Modeling was never on my radar. I wanted to be the client! My fashion career exposed me to the globe and some of the most talented people in the world. Vera Wang was responsible for me working at Vogue; Scavullo photographed my Cosmopolitan cover, Herb Ritts, Bruce Weber, Avedon---all taught me so much. Fendi, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein were all companies that I worked for. My greatest mentors in life and fashion include my Mother, Barbara, who has exquisite taste, my Father, John who taught me the economics of fashion and economic realities of retail. It can be ugly, when people aren't honest... Jule Campbell from Sports Illustrated and Elizabeth Taylor continue to be true blessings in my life. Elizabeth took me by the hand and demanded that I express myself in a bolder, more powerful way. 'Beige is not the inner you. People will take you seriously even when you're designing something wonderful, feminine and sexy. You can also wear it! I miss and treasure Elizabeth every day,' " explained Kathy Ireland about her passion for design that launched, kathy ireland® Worldwide. We are very happy with the Wayfair we purchased. The furniture is sturdy and solid. The craftsmanship is fantastic, and we are confident the furniture will last a long time. The desk is spacious inside and has as lot of room on its top. The only problem we had with the furniture was from the delivery company, as they took much longer than expected to deliver the furniture. FYI - the glass doors on the TV stand slide to the side rather than open like a regular door. Not a problem, but it took our one year old only a few minutes to figure out how to slide the doors and bang them together.
