This easel looks great. It was so easy to assemble that I didn't even use the directions, which is good because they so limited as to be useless. Nevertheless, I would not buy it again because the tray is not only unstable, there seems to be no way to keep it level. Certainly there were no instructions as to how to stabilize it. The easel is sturdy and the tray deep enough to hold both a heavy mirror that I am painting on and a canvas. At the moment, however, I have the tray and thus the entire easel propped on two side tables. It continues to look great, as I said.
