Love this coffee table!

I recently purchased the Carson Forge Lift Top Coffee Table (in fact, my boyfriend and I just put it together yesterday), and I cannot say enough about how happy we both are with this purchase. We wanted a lift-top coffee table and while this one isn't real wood, the quality is really great. The coffee table is solid and the lift-top mechanism works great.
Even I Could Assemble This

I had purchased this coffee table along with two matching end tables but I put off assembling this piece because I was concerned the metal hardware would prove to be too difficult for me. I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be much easier than I anticipated! The unit looks beautiful, not like a do-it-yourself piece of furniture.
You have to be Handy!

I had a very hard time following the assembly booklet. Diagrams were confusing. Pieces were not all marked and the nuts and bolts were all thrown in one big bag and not separated. Took a while to determine if all the hardware was present. Also, without labeling, I had to rely on the description to find the right hardware. The diagrams in the directions were very confusing. I've had to screw on the lift-up top twice, already, with damage to some of the wooden pieces, and it is still not assembled properly. I'm very disappointed because it was exactly the coffee table I needed.
Love the lift top!

Great coffee table for the price! I honestly can't think of anything that stands as as particularly positive or negative either way. It's just a good solid piece of furniture for the price. Assembly was easy and hassle free. No complaints and just what we were expecting.
Lift Top Coffee Table

Love this coffee table. It is the perfect size for my small living room, but provides tons of storage space and counter space to work, eat, etc. My brother in law put it together, so I can't speak to that, but he seemed to have an easy time with it. It looks so nice, I still can't believe I got it for such a great price and free shipping!
Affordable multi-use coffee table

We have a small house with no dining space so we eat most of our meals in the living room at the coffee table hunched over, this was the perfect solution for us as it had nice storage space was not too big and had the lifting top so we didn't have to hunch over anymore. The look is nice, its a bit heavy but sturdy. The only problem we had putting it together (it does take some time and patience) was attaching the metal hinges for the top part, since it was heavy and awkward top attach the metal parts scraped off some of the laminate which was a real bummer but its just on the inside so its not too bad. It does make me worried about how fragile the outside laminate coating is. We use a table runner to protect the outside.
Nifty little table

Needed a peice in my apt that was versatile. His works great. Perfect for late nights on the laptop with the extended table. And great for dinners in front of the TV too. Not too difficult to put together. Hubby did it in about 90 min. Would have been quicker if I did it :). Overall a good piece for a good price. Wouldn't recommend for people with toddlers. The edges are sharp. But other than that I would definitely recommend. One note. It's very heavy and will need 2 people to move the shipping box if you have stairs.
husband love it!

My husband needed another person to help him build this thing...it wasn't that easy but it looks great after. The only complain that he have is the screw that holds the lifting plank is loose so you have to tighten it every now and then. But the shipping and price is awesome!!!

This picture does NOT do this coffee table justice. It looks beautiful. Great wood grain and a bit of rustic appeal to it. The assembly was pretty easy and didn't take all too long- you do need two people at times to get it assembled though. My only minor complaint would be that the table has an ever so slight angle when down, but lifted up- it's the perfect height to sit at the sofa and work with my laptop or eat in front of the tv. Very sturdy in the upright position and goes up and down easily. Great buy!

Exactly what I was looking for in my living room. Beautiful dark brown finish, very sturdy, easy lift top. Full assembly required - I'll admit I was a little scared ordering it disassembled based on some of the assembly reviews, but I was able to put it together by myself in about 3 hours.
