Mayline Aberdeen 72" Cabinet
Pain of a project!
C. from California
Putting this cabinet together was such a pain. The pre-drilled holes in the cabinet were not aligned on both sides, which meant I really had to force it together. It's not like I have a drill laying around or anything. There are small gaps in between the pieces that connect together at the edges. I'm not sure if this has any affect on the integrity of the cabinet. It probably does if I move it, but it's so heavy that I really don't even want to try and don't foresee a need to ever really move it. The inside divider pieces were mislabeled, which I did not figure out until one of the very last steps at the end of the project. This meant I had to take most of it apart and start all over again. It was a bigger pain than it was worth.
Though still a market leader in manual drawing (they invented the straightedge) and large format filing, Mayline has moved to the forefront of office ergonomics. The Mayline Group now includes Tiffany Industries, Kwik File and Mayline products.
