First off, I have to say that I was very appalled by the packaging. I opened it up and the lift tab was cracked (nothing too serious) but it will still function properly. Then when I pulled the last piece out of the box I saw a lot of loose bolts. There was, however, a package of 'extra bolts'. It doesn't make sense to me that they would just throw the bolts you need in the box, but take the time to package one extra of each length. Second, the other reviews are correct on the difficulty of lining up the holes on the seat cushion with the chair arms. If you use common assembly sense it isn't too hard to over come however. (i.e DON'T TIGHTEN ANY BOLT UNTIL ALL BOLTS ARE STARTED) Last, once it is all put together it is a very well constructed and comfortable enough chair. I am a large man, 6' 280 lbs. I fit fine and don't feel like I am about to break this thing!
Great chair for the price

Great Chair - IMPOSSIBLE Assembly
Marisa from Port Washington, NY – Verified Buyer
I read all of the reviews on this chair, and all of them said the assembly was super difficult. I decided to ignore it because I am generally very good with putting things together. This chair was indeed impossible to assemble. I finally got it all together, but none of the holes line up, so I had to leave a screw out because short of drilling a new hole, there was no way it was going anywhere. Once (mostly) put together, it is a very comfortable and sturdy feeling chair, so my husband likes it! But don't underestimate all the reviews about assembly, they are 100% spot on.
Comfy Seat... tough getting there!
Carrie from Medford, OR
This chair is perfect. Multiple adjustments allowing all of us (ranging from 5'7" to 6'5") to sit comfortably and ergonomically correct! The only problem was the assembly. It is tough! But please don't let that discourage you, just plan on having an extra hand available to help! You will be glad you did.
Cheap for a reason

These chairs arrived with the box a little beat up... there were spots of the box soaked in something oily. Still not sure what that is, so I assembled with gloves on and wiped everything down after. This is kind of icky, not the initial feeling I wanted for our new chairs. I read all the reviews beforehand and saw folks mentioning assembly problems. Honestly, I didn't pay much attention to these reviews. I thought, we are technical people, how hard could chair assembly be!?!?! I'm not sure why this didn't come through to me in the other reviews, but what folks are reporting is not difficult or complex assembly rather a manufacturing defect. None of the holes line up with their parts. Where there are 4 screws that need to be screwed in, the wholes only line up for 2. There is no way to bend, twist, or maneuver the parts into position to get more than 2 of the 4 screws in. This is consistent across ALL the parts. This is a manufacturing defect. The manufacturing defect is the reason for the 3 star review. I am highly suspect of the long-term prospects for these chairs. With only 2 screws in place I'm betting on less than a year of daily use. That being said, these are at least half the price of every other similarly featured / decent looking task chair option out there. They look good and are comfortable. Even with 1/2 the screws in place they feel pretty sturdy.

Bought this for my daughter as a gift since she recently started working from home. The delivery arrived on rhe exact day it was scheduled - Christmas Eve! My daughter was able to assemble herself with a little help from my 7 year old Granddaughter. She said the chair is comfortable, sturdy and looks great in her home office.

I highly recommend this chair for a home office. It is comfortable, seems to be very durable, and was not too difficult to assemble. It does require a significant amount of force to install the arms and seat, so I would recommend having at least two people to do the job or one really strong individual. It is a great deal for the price.
My butt said THANK YOU

The seat on my old office chair was as hard as a rock - so when I saw this one had a padded seat and came in multiple colors, I knew I'd found a replacement. I'm thrilled with the chair. It makes sitting at my computer more enjoyable and my back and derriere no longer complain. Great price - Excellent workmanship - easy to assembly - totally adjustable for indivual preference. Wish it came in more colors
Chair Great..Assembly a nightmare
Lee from Emeryville, CA – Verified Buyer
The chairs are great, the assembly was much harder than I had imagined. I have assembled many chairs before, but this one really had no instructions and the holes that were drilled didn't quite line up...... Just beware that it will be a challenge to assemble.
Looks Good but Impossible Assembly

I ignored the other comments about the predrilled holes in the seat cushion not matching the the holds in the arms. That was a big mistake. No matter what I did, I couldn't get more than 2 holes lined up properly. The holes in the seat cushion have a metal lining onto which the bolts hold. On the 2 sides where I had to drill new holes, the bolts did not get anywhere near a secure hold. I ordered this chair for my guest bedroom. I had guests stay with me recently, and even though I warned them that the chair was not well put together, the chair had come apart the first time they used it. It went into the garbage this morning. (There's no way I was going to undertake the task of trying to send it back.) With that said, this is a nice looking chair. And, if you're lucky enough, you might actually get one with more than 2 good drills.
