Picture is misleading!! from Washington, DC on 10/12/2013 – Verified Buyer
The photo shown for this product is totally misleading. All that is included is the middle section. The shelves on either side are sold separately. I am furious and feel totally ripped off.

Simple solution for tight spaces - sturdy and well made from Los Angeles, CA on 03/06/2015 – Verified Buyer
This is a heavy wooden shelf unit. It ships as freight and comes very well packed. The instructions are simple, they include all the tools and made it easy for a single person to put it together. Make certain that you decide where you want it and build it right next to the wall you will lean it on. In my case, I put this in our kitchen as an extra plant & book stand. It fills the vertical space without being too heavy, and the small footprint lets you max your floor space. It comes with a support bracket to hook it up to the wall. Don't forget this step - it is heavy and can be knocked down if you don't secure it to the wall. The only thing lacking with this shelf is plastic foot pads to raise thelower wooden bar off the floor - a necessity if you have it in the kitchen or anyplace else where you might want to wash your floor. It will be fine as is with carpet. I like the wood - it is rustic without being too distressed. Glad I decided on this one, originally I was going to buy a more expensive shelf from Room & Board - this is nicer and with all the money I saved, I will probably invest in another one for the other wall. Maybe it'll be a sideboard, a bar or whatever the mood strikes.? I like the fact you can be creative and not be stuck with something that is for only one purpose.

Beautiful shelves that are sturdy and easy enough to put together from BOSTON, MA on 08/25/2015 – Verified Buyer
I just ordered two of these shelving units and they look beautiful in my home office. I ordered the smoky driftwood finish, and they are a little bit darker than how they appear in this picture but still a beautiful finish. The shelves do not look cheap, as some other leaning units that I've looked at have. Looks like real, solid wood. To put together: the hardest part is making sure the selves are all facing the correct direction (the stickers are very helpful once you figure them out). I was able to put together by myself no problem. As other reviews mention, I recommend not tightening the screws completely tight until you have the unit put together and up against the wall. Once the shelves were constructed I then took the screw driver and tightened all the screws completely. I haven't attached the shelves to the wall since they are SO sturdy and don't feel that they will fall, pets and all. I highly recommend! Pros: Look great and expensive quality, easy enough to put together, VERY sturdy Cons: Smoky Driftwood color is a bit darker in real life than it appears in these pictures, but still beautiful!!

Solid, Sturdy and Stylish ladder shelves! from Seattle, WA on 08/31/2015 – Verified Buyer
Absolutely love this bookshelf - it was super easy to assemble and is very sturdy. The smoky driftwood finish is so stylish and modern; perfectly minimalistic. I was getting compliments on it from friends before I had even finished assembling it! Only took about 20 minutes to put together. So happy with this purchase that I'm buying another one. The ONE, SINGLE thing that I would deduct 0.2 stars for (but I won't) is that the instructions would be just a little bit more elaborate. They consist of just two diagrams that are not as clear as they could be. Pros: Gorgeous finish; easy to put together; durable Cons: Instructions could be more detailed

Great Looking, Super Sturdy Bookshelf! from Brooklyn, NY on 08/24/2015 – Verified Buyer
I was a little worried that this bookshelf might not be able to hold my books but I was relieved to see that it is very well built and very sturdy. I have two of these and they are both have all but the very top self packed with books. I didn't even need to secure them to the wall or put in rubber pads, etc (I have wood floors). The bookshelves are completely made of solid wood (their all smaller pieces that are finger box jointed together so they're very solid). The finish looks pretty good, the rustic nature of the finish helps to hide some of the not so great workmanship (but what can you expect for this price. Assembly wasn't too difficult but it helps to have 2 people do it. All in all this is a four star bookcase for a 1 star price. Pros: Very solid (a cheap book case that can actually carry books is kind of rare). Great finish. Cons: workmanship isn't very good, but this is (cleverly) covered up by the rustic finish.
