Color Not At All Like Photo
Judith from Raynham, MA
The Bungalow Buffet that was delivered to my house was VERY red. Not at all the color I thought, per the photos online, it would be. So disappointed! I bought this buffet to go in my dining room which is furnished entirely early 1900s vintage oak furniture. One of the most important deciding factors in my purchase was the color. I looked at every online photo of the buffet, zoomed in on different areas of the piece in the photos, and finally decided it would beautifully match the pedestal dining table, tall chest, bookcase and plant stand that I was already using in the room. But when it arrived, it was so read and was so off in color, I knew I had two options: #1. return it; or #2. have my husband sand it down and stain it with a different color. The buffet has a very thin laminate covering so you can't really take a sander to it, so my husband used a light piece of steel wool to carefully rub it down, then he stained it with a Minwax stain we've used to refinish other early 1900s furniture, and now the piece looks much better. The red is not entirely gone; but, it is a great improvement (although compared to the photo above, the real one in my dining room is still distinctly more red), and it was easier than trying to ship it back. Had I known the true color before I bought it...I wouldn't have.

This is a gorgeous piece of furniture! Well made, solid, and a beautiful rich color. It matches my Arts and Craft dining room set like it was a part of it. Thank you, Wayfair, for such quality furniture.
A Beautiful Piece of Furniture

Well made. Beautiful wood. Well designed. Makes my dining room.
An ugly orange finish
Marilyn from Kansas City– Verified Buyer
The construction is good and the piece is pretty in low light. But in sunlight the finish is somewhat orange-ish. I am hoping it will fade, or maybe I'll try to sponge something over it to diminish the color. This, of course, is a matter of personal taste and some people may like the orangey color. But I myself love the real color of red oak -- and the inside of the piece is a nice color where this finish was not applied. So I am just sad they didn't let the real wood shine through.
Love the look and quality - one small construction problem

I love the look of this buffet. It is solid oak and looks beautiful. The only issue is that one of the middle drawers does not close completely. It seems to be hitting something in the back, but there is no way to take the drawer out and see what the problem is.

I couldn't believe that the buffet was even more lovely than it looked

Color is richer and a bit darker and is absolutely perfect. Wine storage was not mentioned in description but is a nice touch. Lots of storage with lined top drawers.
