Great Looks and Great Value

These bookcases are pressed wood and knowing that you might think the quality wasn't there, but you'd be wrong. Would a solid Cherry bookcase be better, absolutely, but for my needs (and assuming most peoples) the price just isn't justifiable. These look fantastic, so much so that I have 5 of them, 3 in my study and two in my office. Pushed together they look like one flowing piece. Very sturdy once put together. Again, they are pressed wood, so take care when assembling, but once they're built, they're very solid and will have no problem holding shelves full of books.

The price was right, the size was right and it was easy to assemble. Simple, clean lined and as described.. I have a pair flanking a picture window. With drapes on the window and the pleasant colour tone, they blend very well with more expensive furniture in the room. Due to height, I recommend attaching to the wall at the top to prevent any possibility of falling forward. It is not likely, but this is a common sense move. Very pleased.
Decent for the price

I bought two of these bookcases and put them together. They are nice and very sturdy. The finish is a pretty color and they are a great size. My only complaint is that the backing is cardboard and every fold in it is very visible which makes it look very cheap especially when it's in the sun. As long as you can fill the bookcase so the backing isn't visible it will look great, otherwise it looks a little cheap.
A Handsome Bookcase

I bought this bookcase for its dimensions and color. I was looking for something that was an antique cherry color. The bookcase is actually a little bit darker than my furniture but it doesn't bother me that much. My husband built it and he said it was tedious but he did it by himself in a couple of hours. We have not put anything on it yet and don't plan to put very heavy books on it so I don't know how it'll hold up. It looks great in our home and I would recommend it to others.

This bookcase was definitely a great piece! We were hesitate at first thinking the bookcase may be too skinny or not good quality.

Bookcase is heavy duty as promised. Was somewhat tricky to put together, but was able to complete with help. The back of it is the typical cardboard piece. This one really looks fake. I completely filled the shelf to hide the obvious cardboard folds.

This book case is outstanding, seems a little expensive though. My only concerns, the small pieces it came in that took a VERY long time to assemble. And, the pre-fabricated holes being so stiff that a drill cannot be used. I had to hand turn what seemed like a 100 screws into place. On top of that, I ordered three of them so I had a lot of practice with the assembly. Also, the labels are needed on the pieces, but should be easier to remove so you don't have sticker remains after assembly.

I ordered three of these bookshelves and will soon order more. While they are made from pressboard with a vinyl printed surface, this material is made so well they look like high-end wood and have a nicer appearance than most of the real wood furniture you see in stores. It took me about 2 hours to assemble each one, but I was being careful. I noted that some buyers complained that they ended up with a raw edge showing somewhere, but I never found that. I suspect they didn't take the time to adjust the angle fittings you install onto the back of the side trim pieces. The metal angle pieces have slots where the screws go, to allow you to move the trim boards into place to fit properly. I also noted that people complained about the paperboard back piece, which comes in the box folded into thirds. Be sure to unfold it ahead of time and lay it out flat. And when you nail the back to the frame, use a straight edge across the back to insure it is straight across and not bowed. Installed properly it looks fine. The nails you use to attach the back to the frame bend easily so go slow, they only give you one for each hole. The units fit together well and make a very nice wall of books. The shelves are deep enough so you can display knicknacks in front of standard sized hardback books.

I purchased two of these for my son's art studio. He keeps all his art books on them and the books don't get bent like they were on his wire shelf. He loves the color!
