Plush-button, tufted upholstery puts you in mind of nineteenth-century, horsehair-stuffed buggy seats, and sometimes such furniture is as unyielding as its horse-drawn antecedents. I admit I was more concerned with the formal appearance of this piece than I was with how comfortable it would be, but no one has declined to sit on it and no one has complained. As for me, I prefer my computer-desk manager's chair, but that's another species of sitware altogether. If your room could stand some elegance and you're not looking for a chaise lounge, this chair is well-made, looks terrific, and respects your budget.
