A good basic chair
Chris from Illinois
I use this chair everyday to sit at my computer and work on paperwork, which consumes about 20% of my time; I am a social worker and often my day is spent in my office talking to people while sitting on an easy chair or a couch. I needed a chair that was sturdy, because I am fat and need something that will work well to swivel in my horseshoe desk and roll over to my file cabinet. Putting it together, I would recommend power tools. I did put it together with a screwdriver by hand; I think that it would feel more level if I would take one in and try to tighten the bolts attaching the base to the seat of the chair. It feels constantly like it lists a little bit to my left. That being said, not tough to assemble. It rolls, albeit not great. However, I am fat, so the chair has a lot of hard work to do. It sits fine and it is well padded. Nice to sit in. The black fabric picks up every flake of dead skin or dust in the room, but brushes off and looks nice. The lift and tilt mechanisms work as anticipated. I just wish it felt more sturdy, but I can help by losing some weight. Good price for a chair designed for the overweight.
Perfect "Big Guy's" Office Chair

OK, I was a little embarrassed about having to buy a "big man's" chair, but needed to. I put on a bit of weight after an accident, and literally broke my last home office chair. That said, this chair answered the bill for all my needs. It's wide and sturdy, looks great and is surprisingly comfortable. It comes disassembled, but don't let that scare ya, if you know how to operate a screwdriver and read directions (in English!), you won't have a problem putting it together. The main frame parts are made of real, heavy metal, so you may need help with lifting if you have a bad back - but trust me, you will have a comfortable chair that will help your back as soon as you are done. The cushions at first do seem a little "hard", but after sitting in it, it just feels right to me. I've been sitting in this chair for up to 18 hours a day doing home business (and games too), and have never felt uncomfortable because of the chair. I now actually prefer it over my recliner even when watching TV... My only little complaint is that this chair does what every other chair I've ever owned does to me in the middle of the night - it squeaks and creaks a bit - not enough to bother anyone else, but enough for me to notice. I'd recommend this chair to anyone who likes a bit more space to sit on. The seat area is very wide, and not just big people will like this, I have a petite little friend who likes to sit "Indian style" in this chair and wants to get one of her own now too. It looks good, it's big without being too big, it's comfortable and sturdy. I'm looking forward to many years of quality sit-down time - lol.

Edit for previous review

I wrote a review for this product on 2/4/2011 claiming the height was a sham. Turns out I was wrong. Once the pneumatic adjuster broke completely Wayfair sent me a new one. The new adjuster went to the proper height, so mine was defective from the start. The return process was a bit of a hassle but once initiated Wayfair sent my new part out promptly and since then(7/2011) my chair has been awesome. 5-star chair -1 for the problems with the pneumatic adjuster.

It's a good solid chair - but is a pain to assemble because instead of being in a package, the screws are screwed into the bottom of the chair seat -- and they were treated with lock-tight. By the time you get them out, you're too tired to put the chair together. It's not as comfortable as lots of other office chairs, and is extremely hard to adjust the height.
Love This Chair!!

I use this chair for hours at a time on a daily basis while working on my computer at my desk & while practicing my guitar. This chair is roomy and extremely comfortable. I am a large man (over 300 lbs.) and this chair is the only one I have found that exceeds my expectations. I cannot attest to the durability of the chair as I have only had it for a short time (less than 2 months), but thus far I have not one negative comment about it. Well built, well padded, easy to clean. I do recommend that you have another person help you assemble it, although I did manage it by myself. Be sure you follow the assembly instructions to the letter. Be advised that mine came with the screws installed in the base of the chair. You must remove them before you begin and not all of them will be used in the final assembly. I highly recommend this chair!!
Big? Yes. Tall? No.
boboboston from Winston-Salem, NC
I use this "big and tall" chair at my computer desk. I am 6'5" tall and 325 lbs. I ordered this chair because of the claim that the seat height is 19" to 22.5". The seat height fully extended with no one in the chair is maxed at 21" and that is measuring to the highest single point of the seat. The chair is otherwise comfortable and well made. The directions that came with the chair for assembly were another story. The pamphlet claimed that there were 16 identical screws ("arm, back bar, mechanism screw" according to the directions)used for fastening the arms and the plate for the lift on to the bottom of the chair. There were 20 screws on the bottom of the seat, eight of one gauge and twelve of another. Four of the eight wider screws were superfluous to assembly, and four of the twelve thinner screws were longer than the other eight. Furthermore the directions are not as easy to follow as they should be. I would recommend this chair to a big person, but certainly not for a tall person.
Good for the price.

The chair is everything the add said it was. It is large and well constructed. Assembly was not bad. The look is very utility, which is fine. I like the chair overall, but was disappointed with the tilt. It wont let you tilt back to a comfortable position.
Built like a tank
Big Ed from Vincennes, IN
I learned from other reviewers about difficulties they had assembling their chairs, and had no trouble whatsoever. It may be the manufacturer listened and corrected mislocated pre-drilled holes, too. The key is to install parts in instruction-sheet order, just barely start every screw, then go back and tighten them after everything is attached. The chair is built like a freakin' tank, and that's exactly what I needed: something sturdy enough to support my weight. Is it wonderfully comfortable? No, not yet. The cushions are a harder foam which has a different feel than soft form. But I haven't owned it 24 hours yet and I'm sure I'll get used to it. Conversely, lumbar support is wonderful. It would have been nice if it went up another couple of inches, but the tilt lock feature -- something I never encountered before -- sort of makes up for it. Casters are larger than usual, so it rolls easily. And the seat is actually wider than I need by 3-4 inches. Cool!

office chair - 6 hours a day it is so comfortable compared to the regular sized chairs. the only downside is that I feel confident in leaning back in this chair.. and it is far to easy to drift off in a nap. All in all I would recommend this chair for anyone looking for a bigger chair that won't break the bank.
