Bestar Active Computer Station in Copper Cherry

The desk came in a huge box and I was lucky enough to not drop it. I opened it and found there to be dents and cracks on the surface of several pieces of wood. It was too late to return it and they probably wouldn't send me another one so I just assembled it and so far no problems. I just really hate the cracks and dents that is what makes the desk look unattractive.

Pros: Excellent customer service. This was our second purchase of BESTAR product. The first time the service was 5 star as well as the product was 5 star. Con: This product has incomplete design, serious quality problems such as sharp edges, and finish. 1. Work surface edges should be rounded or much smoother. Joints are rough. 2. Does not have back panel where monitor is shown. 3. Should have grommets for monitor and printer wires.

This is the desk I got when my old L-desk wouldn't fit in the new arrangement of our house after having our first child. I've put together a lot of ready-to-assemble furniture over the years, and this was by far the easiest, best-prepared set I've ever dealt with. All the screws, cams and dowels went in straight with a minimum of fuss. The one exception was the drawer rail mounting screws and the screws holding the sides of the drawer together -- I had to remove and retry the latter screws because if the drawer is not assembled perfectly flat, the facing sits up too high and will hit the edge of the desktop. Best bet is to sit the drawer panels on a flat surface to assemble them -- I did it freehand which is why I had that issue. The only other problem I had was that it arrived with a gouge taken out of the drawer bottom panel, but this was the only damage and Bestar shipped me a new one with no hassle -- they just asked for the desk model number, which part of the desk, and my address. Can't beat that! Also, the instructions say it's a two-person assembly. This is only partly true -- you definitely will want assistance carrying the box around before you unpack it, but the only part of the actual assembly that really needs two people is standing the bottom portion up before putting the desk surface on. If you're careful, you can do that yourself, but it does require care to do so because two large subunits are connected by a single set of screws at that point and if it flexes too far, you'll ruin the screws and their holes. All in all I can't recommend this highly enough -- there are nicer desks at a much higher price, but none this nice at this price.

[...]Good looking product....colors were as depicted on the picture.My 12 yr old daughter uses it as a study desk in her room, and it holds all her stuff, pretty much.I know it is a computor station, but she does not have a computer...it still works well as a study desk.

This Bestar workstation is not the quality of comparably priced units by Sauder or Bush. Was disappointed in the unit overall.
